چکیده

We introduce a novel multiframe scene flow approach that jointly optimizes the consistency of the patch appearances and their local rigid motions from RGB-D image sequences. In contrast to the competing methods, we take advantage of an oversegmentation of the reference frame and robust optimization techniques. We formulate scene flow recovery as a global non-linear least squares problem which is iteratively solved by a damped Gauss-Newton approach. As a result, we obtain a qualitatively new level of accuracy in RGB-D based scene flow estimation which can potentially run in real-time. Our method can handle challenging cases with rigid, piecewise rigid, articulated and moderate non-rigid motion, and does not rely on prior knowledge about the types of motions and deformations. Extensive experiments on synthetic and real data show that our method outperforms state-of-the-art.

Dense Semi-rigid Scene Flow Estimation from RGBD Images

Scene flow is defined as the motion field in 3D space, and can be computed from a single view when using an RGBD sensor. We propose a new scene flow approach that exploits the local and piecewise rigidity of real world scenes. By modeling the motion as a field of twists, our method encourages piecewise smooth solutions of rigid body motions. We give a general formulation to solve for local and ...

Hierarchical spline-based image registration

The problem of image registration subsumes a number of topics in multiframe image analysis, including the computation of optic flow (general pixel-based motion), stereo correspondence, structure fmm motion, and feature tracking. We present a new registration algorithm based on a spline representation of the displacement field which can be specialized to solve all of the above mentioned problems...

Stereo Video Deblurring

Videos acquired in low-light conditions often exhibit motion blur, which depends on the motion of the objects relative to the camera. This is not only visually unpleasing, but can hamper further processing. With this paper we are the first to show how the availability of stereo video can aid the challenging video deblurring task. We leverage 3D scene flow, which can be estimated robustly even u...

Depth and Scene Flow from a Single Moving Camera

We show that it is possible to reconstruct scene flow and depth from a single moving camera whose motion is known. To do so, we assume that the local scene motion can be approximated by a constant velocity in a small temporal window. This assumption makes it possible to unambiguously reconstruct scene flow and depth using as few as 3 frames from the sequence. We propose a variational approach t...

Shape and Motion Carving in 6D

The motion of a non-rigid scene over time imposes more constraints on its structure than those derived from images at a single time instant alone. An algorithm is presented for simultaneously recovering dense scene shape and scene flow (i.e., the instantaneous 3D motion at every point in the scene). The algorithm operates by carving away hexels, or points in the 6D space of all possible shapes ...
